
The coal train arrives at Detroit first, as intended, and takes siding for the freight train. A passenger train and another freight train have entered the picture.
Having arrived at Detroit, the coal train SHOULD HAVE been instructed to hold the main track and the freight train to take siding. At this point, the passenger train will receive delay, but the delay will not be as substantial as will occur in the third view of this illustration. (See the next page)
