Cap'n Bill Wheedles

He is an ex-sailor with a wooden left leg from the knee down. His head is almost bald and what little hair he has is grizzled, though he isn't all that old. His eyes are pale blue with a gentle look to them, and his face is round, rugged, and bronzed. Cap'n Bill owned and operated the trading schooner Anemone until the accident in which he lost his leg. His first mate, Charlie Griffiths, became master of the Anemone and Cap'n Bill retired to live as a boarder in Captain Griffiths home. This occurred about the time that the Griffiths daughter Mayre was born, so Cap'n Bill has been her close companion since she was a baby.
