The tiger left the forest and joined the Cowardly Lion because it realized that it did not fit in. The tiger has a conscious that will not let it harm any creature by eating it, so unfortunately it stays hungry all the time. The tiger lusts longingly to devour the many tender creatures that it encounters, but is so driven by its sense of right and wrong it cannot bring itself to eat any of them.
