Baum's "Queer Visitors" Cartoon Strip

"Queer Visitors from the Marvelous Land of Oz," was a series of 27 cartoon strip stories, written by Baum and illustrated by Walt McDougall. They were published in the Philadelphia North American, Chicago Sunday Record-Herald and other newspapers in 1904 and 1905. The stories and dates are provided in the following table.
The launch of the cartoon series was preceded by a large and imaginative advertising campaign, perhaps a forerunner of modern advertising methods. This included a series of reports of astronomers of extra-terrestial events. These ran in the newspapers from 18 August thru 28 August 1904, and are included as the first entry in the table below.
