1920's Horse-drawn Spray Rig

Horse-drawn spray rig

Photograph contributed by Harry Killian, with these notes:
Grandpa (Joseph Oscar Killian) is the man to the right-most, holding and pointing a "spray gun." The rig, of course, is a horse-drawn spray rig. It is interesting that Grandpa would have a (gasoline?) engine-powered spray rig but not a tractor. Undoubtedly, the economics favored the horse.
After discussions with my brothers, we concluded that the location is Grandpa's first orchard (he just managed it; he didn't own it) out on the ridge area of Manson. Thus, the mountains in the background are across Lake Chelan (i.e., on the "south" side).
