With separate transducer elements for each string and a rich, clear tone quality, Barbera bridge transducers have earned a reputation as the finest pickups available for the violin and viola. A monophonic output is standard. Options include: 

Stereo Twin Pickup. This deluxe version of the Barbera pickup features two transducer elements per string, giving enhanced tone quality and extra smooth performance overall. The Stereo Twin is an extra cost option on 4 and 5 string violas. It is standard on 6 string violas.

Selectable Poly/Mono Output. Provides a choice of mono and polyphonic outputs. The polyphonic output can operate a Roland VG8-type processor and other multichannel processors and split-channel patches. Available with both the Standard and Dual Transducer pickups. 

Wireless Systems

With a wireless system you can move freely without concern about cords. On Jensen violas the wireless transmitter is mounted virtually out of sight on a specially designed shoulder rest which accepts most standard transmitters. It is easy to switch between cord and wireless operation, and to service the transmitter. You can choose from several complete wireless systems using "true diversity" electronics which give fine audio performance and freedom from interference.

Preamplifier. Recommended for use with the Barbera transducers. Four slider tone controls, including one with a parametric filter, go far beyond conventional tone controls to let you optimize the tone quality of the violin for your personal taste and performance situation.  Includes line level and low impedance outputs, effects loop, LED power indicator, volume control. Powered by a standard 9 volt battery or AC adapter. 

Airplane Luggage Case. A compact, lightweight, and strong case made from impact-resistant lexan with ABS facing, with aluminum edges, heavy duty hardware, keyed lock and fitted interior. Protects the instrument in the most demanding travel conditions.

Poly Junction Box. The Poly Junction Box is a matrix patch bay and mixing device which can expand the usefulness of your viola equipped with the Barbera poly-out pickup. Its main function is to direct any of six inputs to any of six outputs, separately or joined in any combination. The six separate outputs can connect with separate inputs of a sound mixing console, amplifier system, and polyphonic processors such as the Roland VG8 series, provide independent loops for split or stereo effects, or connect with your special processing devices in many different ways. Standard 1/4", 8-conductor DIN, and 13-conductor jacks are provided for the inputs and outputs. The Poly Junction Box is compact, occupying a half rack space. It is simple to use, and comes with concise and clear instructions. 

Cylindrical Tuning Knobs. Round tuning knobs with crosshatch surface, installed on standard tuners. Black or silver color.

Fingerboard Inlays. Inlaid pitch markers and ornamental designs are available on special order. Please inquire for details.
