Room 7, Grade 4

Last summer I went to Mexico. I had lots of fun. I liked it there. I also liked going to pools there. Once my grandma took me on a long trip. I liked it because I got to ride horses in that place. We stayed there for a couple of days. Then we went back to my grandma’s house. I missed my family, but when I played, I forgot about it. My grandma has three dogs. I played a lot with them. One of them is an Alaska dog. I like him the most. When I was on the plane, I wanted it to hurry up so I could see my family. I felt better when I saw them.
What should you say to a monster when it’s angry?
“Look, your mummy’s calling you!”

Kristin
Room 16, Grades 1, 2, &3

My classroom is fun because we have hard math problems, and after math we have Center Time. At Center Time you can play games, paint, art table, blocks, puzzles, clay, and listening center. It’s really fun. And I like the kids in the class. I love Room 16.

I went to a live bat show yesterday. It was GREAT! My name is Tyler. I want to be a newws reporter because I will share news with my class. I will write about it. My name is Cassie. My dog had seven puppies, black puppies!

Taylor and Lencho,
Room 22, Grade 4

I think our class is pretty cool this year! Some people are excited because this year we get to play instruments. Some people are playing the drums, violin, flute, saxophone, and trumpet. Lencho and Philip are playing the drums, Tony and Matt are playing the clarinet, and Taylor is playing the violin. We’re pretty excited about Halloween! Well, that’s all from Room 22.
Why didn’t the skeleton cross the road?
He didn’t have the guts!

Corey and Heather
Room 12, Grade 3

I like Arbor Heights because it’s a great school. I like Room 12 because our teacher is caring. I also think Arbor Heights has great staff. What I did last summer was I went to Brownie Camp. Class is fun because we do art and computers. Halloween is going to be great this year!

My New School by Stephanie
Room 24, Grade 5

Hi! My name is Stephanie. I’m in the fifth grade, and in Room 24. This is my first year here at Arbor Heights. It was scary transferring from my last school (Gatewood Elementary), but it’s not as bad as I thought it would be! I’ve met a few friends, I’m getting used to my teacher, and I learned my way around the school. I think I’ll enjoy spending my last year of elementary school at Arbor Heights!

Jessie and Moira
Room 19, Grade 1

From Jessie: I got a dog. Her name is Molly. I got my dog last summer. In my classroom we have two computers. I make more friends this year. I learned how to read better than last year.
From Moira: I did Water Ballet at Arbor Heights Pool and took diving lessons, too. Room 19, Mrs. Ballard’s class, is nice. It has pumpkin and apple decorations in the classroom. I like playing in my classroom, and I like playing on the rings outdoors. I like playing soccer. I am sure glad testing is over! I like to do trick or treating at Halloween, and my dad sneaks out candy from my treat bag! PS - I like to paint each day in my classroom when we have stations.
Did the mummy have a good vacation?
Who knows? - He was too wrapped up to tell us!

Mary
Room 25, Grades 4&5

What my class is like is that Mrs. Haas is very nice. We have morning work every morning. I sit by some of my friends. We went on two field trips already, on the first two weeks of school! I hope some of you fourth graders will get Mrs. Haas.
Why didn’t the pumpkin cross the road?
Because it knew it would get smashed for Halloween, and it wouldn’t be a Jack-O-Lantern, it would just be a big mess.

Steve and Kelsey
Room 17, Grades 1&2

Our teacher is nice, and we have two guinea pigs and two walking sticks. Our author of the month is Eve Bunting, and she has written the books In the Haunted House, Scary, Scary Halloween, and Fly Away Home.
What did the ghost eat for dessert?
