"Will Windows 95 make a difference in your life?"
(asked in downtown Kirkland on 08-24-95; published in the JA on 08-27-95)
Sandy Nichols, Hospital clerk, Petaluma, CA
"I was just talking to my girlfriend about that this morning... I don't think so."
Damian Dering, Recent college graduate, Redmond
"I think it will. From what I've been hearing, I think it's going to change how we see computers, and how they're used, and how they're used in homes, too. I plan on getting it at some point, when it gets a little cheaper."
David Bell, Electrician, Lynnwood
"Sure. I have a computer at home and I'm going to update it. Windows 95 will give me greater access to more info, and easier access. But I'm just going by all the info they're telling me. For all I know, it could be a bust."
Cecil Martens, Electrician, Bothell
"Probably yes. I've got a computer, but I've got to get another upgrade to use Windows 95. But it should make things easier to run, and use. To me, easier is better. The less steps, the better. My girlfriend will like it -- she's always playing with my computer."
Kellee Riccardo, Homemaker, Renton
"I'd have to say yes. We're thinking of getting a computer for our son when he starts school. Indirectly, Windows 95 will help my family, including my father, who's a computer programmer. We're looking for a really great program to start out with, and so we'll probably start with that."
John Kilrain, Retired, Kirkland
"Not at all. I don't use computers so I don't know anything about it. I'm totally illiterate about them. We talk about getting one for business -- we'll get around to it, I suppose. Somebody obviously thinks Windows 95 will be a big success, and hopes so, and it probably will be. Microsoft seems to have the Midas touch when it comes to these things."
